Aperture & Shutter Speed Practice

   SET 1 :
SET 1 :

  • F4  – looks the best at __1 /125___ of a second shutter speed.
  • F5.6 – looks the best at __1/60___ of a second shutter speed.
  • F8  – looks the best at ___1/60__ of a second shutter speed.
  • F11  – looks the best at ___1/60__ of a second shutter speed.
  • F16  – looks the best at ___1/30__ of a second shutter speed.
  • F22  – looks the best at ___1/8__ of a second shutter speed.

SET 2 :

  • At F4 how much background is visible? Is it blurry or in focus? How much?
  •  The background is blurry , its pretty much all blurred out .
  • At F5.6how much background is visible? Is it blurry or in focus? How much?
  •  The background is blurry you can kind of see what is in the background but not quite yet .
  • At F8 how much background is visible? Is it blurry or in focus? How much?
  •  The background is way more visible the colors are better and you can see it more .
  • At F11 how much background is visible? Is it blurry or in focus? How much?
  •  The texture is kind of blurry but the colors are a bit blurry .
  • At F16 how much background is visible? Is it blurry or in focus? How much?
  •  The Background is more visible but still not really clear
  • At F22 how much background is visible? Is it blurry or in focus? How much?
  • The background is really visible and the colors are perfectly clear
1. Consider what is happening to the people themselves at slow Shutter Speeds.
They seem blurry and they have no color
2. In a real shooting situation, what should the photographer do to lessen this problem?
He should shoot in a faster shutter speed .
3. What combination of aperture and shutter speed do you think produces the best portrait? Why?
I think the best combination of shutter speed and aperture would be 1/60 F/ 8 because the lighting and the background have a perfect balance .

APERTURE

1.  What part of the body should we relate aperture ?
      - The pupil
2. The smaller the aperture the bigger the opening the larger the opening the smaller the aperture .
3.   The smaller the aperture the more the picture is going to show the bigger the aperture the more blurry the picture is going to look .
4. Using a class camera , List all of the F- Stops available
  - 18 , 24 , 35 , 55
5. What is the highest and the smallest aperture numbers available on the kit lens ?
The smallest is F 4.0 the biggest is 25

2 .  - When you choose to shoot in " Aperture Priority " you manually set the lens aperture , you can increase or decrease the depth of field . It can go in slow or fast shutter speed .
3. -  It lets the camera control the depth of field , This is intended to be use when motion needs to be freezed or intentionally blurred.
4.  You can both set the shutter speed and the aperture to any value .
What are the shutter speeds ? 1/ 4000 to "30

ISO 200 & ISO 3200

1. What are the advantages of shooting at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game?
you let more light in without changing the shutter speed

2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?

we should use the low ISO When there is plenty of light, and to retain the most detail and to have the highest image quality.

3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?

You should increase the ISO when you don't have enough light available

4. At the camera near you, please tell me what ISO's are available on your camera?

Auto , 100 , 200 , 400 , 800 ,1600 , 3200 , 6400
